LAST DAY: Boston: Combat Zone, 1969-1978

Today is the last day to check out Boston: Combat Zone, 1969-1978 at Howard Yezerski Gallery, with work by photographers Roswell Angier, Jerry Berndt, John Goodman.

The Combat Zone was at its peak of seediness in the late 1960's, located roughly Boylston and Washington Streets. This district of strip clubs and street walkers developed in the wake of the recently demolished red light district at Scollay Square. Still, even after the major renovation and gentrification to the area, the spectre of the Combat Zone still hovers in the oddly vacant side streets.

For those that never lived in the area at during this time, it will be an education the area's once former night life.
