							<description>The curator, Jennifer Wroblewski,  seeks work (by women and men) made during a pregnancy, or within five years of the birth of the artist's child. The work submitted does NOT need to be specifically about parenting or childbirth. The curator is interested in work that was made during the same period as the artist was also engaged with the thrills and problems of parenting.<![CDATA[<br>]]><![CDATA[<br>]]>This exhibition - the first of its kind - has already been discussed in a feature article in the Brooklyn Rail (NeoMaternalism: Contemporary Artists' Approach to Motherhood, by Sharon Butler, December 2008), and has been mentioned on several prominent art blogs including Art Fag City, Art21 Blog, and Creative Construction.<![CDATA[<br>]]><![CDATA[<br>]]>Work in all media and materials may be submitted. 							<description>Redivider is a journal of new literature and art produced by the graduate students in the Writing, Literature, and Publishing Department at Emerson College in Boston. Art submissions should be sent as up to six separate attachments to a single e-mail. We accept only originals or high-quality copies or scans. No slides, please. If you choose to send your work in digital form, either on optical media or as e-mail attachments, each piece must be saved as a separate .TIFF file no larger than 6 x 9 inches and at a resolution of 600 dpi for line art and 300 dpi for all others. If your piece is chosen for the cover, you may be contacted for a larger file. Redivider prints in black and white. Color submissions will be considered for the cover, as black-and-white reprints on internal pages, and as color images on the website. Our deadlines are July 1 for the Fall issue, and December 1 for the Spring issue.</description>

							<description>ASPECT: The Chronicle of New Media Art, a biannual DVD publication focused on strengthening the field of contemporary new media art through the convergence of artists' work and commentary by distinguished curators, critics, and historians, has become a pioneer in the emerging area of new media art through distribution and education. <![CDATA[<br>]]><![CDATA[<br>]]>ASPECT is currently seeking works for Volume 15: Influence and Reference. The genre of new media art is not without precedent or influence by previous art forms and mass media in general. This volume will focus on works that reference other genres, previous artworks by other artists, or concepts and practices outside traditional fine art. If you've ever looked with envy at the burgeoning biennial activity around you, attended a venerable Biennale and said to yourself 'I can do better than that,' or have no idea what a biennial is and just want to show your stuff to the world, this bi's for you! At last, the Greater East Boston's arts community shows what it's made of to the wider world! <![CDATA[<br>]]><![CDATA[<br>]]>Eligibility:  Open to all artists over 18 years of age.  Open to all media, including 2-D, 3-D, sculpture, photography, mixed media, crafts, experimental works, and art from a kit. Instead of creating a series of vagina monologues, the works in this exhibit will present a cacophonic version of gender discussion in all its messy glory.  Therefore, artists of anygenderwhatever are encouraged to submit.
